white_dune is a graphical VRML97 editor, simple NURBS/Superformula 3D modeller and animation tool. VRML97 (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) is the ISO standard for displaying 3D data over the Web via browser plugins ("HTML for realtime 3D"). It has support for animation, real-time interaction, and multimedia (images, movies, and sounds).

white_dune can read, create and display VRML97 files and let the users change the scenegraph or fields. It also has support for stereoscopic view via "quadbuffer", which makes it capable for stereo visuals, and provides support for 3D input devices like a joystick, spaceball, or magnetic tracker.

Unlike most high-level tools, it uses a light model based on the VRML97 standard.
white_dune is not complete yet, especially in the 3D preview window. But even if the users do not see the node/field in 3D, they can graphically change the values.
Though white_dune is a simple NURBS/SuperFormula 3D Modeller, it does not have tools to change polygon meshes (VRML IndexedFaceSet nodes).

Depending on hardware and software, white_dune can be an impressive VRML editor:
· For "toe in" stereoscopic view, the hardware support a OpenGL "quadbuffer" capable of stereo visual
· It has support for various 3D input devices

However, remember that white_dune is a VRML97 editor, not a VRML browser. White_dune (as a low level tool) tries to write back any input without changing content and do not contain a foolproof VRML evaluator.
