CBB

CBB is the open source finance management application written in Tcl/Tk and Perl. The operating systems, which support this application software are Unix, Linux, Windows, Mac OS X and others. The CBB application is released under the terms of GNU General Public License.

CBB stands for Check Book Balancer and the user can balance their money and checkbook with this software. CBB is extendable and modifiable since it is written in Perl and Tcl/Tk. The user can maintain the group of accounts by CBB and apart from this the user can create, delete and edit transactions.

The functions the user can use in CBB are Generating Accounts, Editing Transactions, Transfers between Accounts, Balancing and Reporting, Creating Graphs, Import/ Export from Quicken, Managing Recurring Transaction, Investment Accounts and some other common functions.

In CBB, when a transaction is placed into the current account of the user, a corresponding transaction will also be placed in the destination account. The deposits, withdrawals from the checking account, savings accounts, credit cards and money market are also supported by CBB.

The production stability is the most important feature of CBB. Apart from this, CBB can generate reports from the summarized current financial state and graph the net worth of the user. With CBB, the user can load his/ her existing Quicken accounts. The Mac and Windows versions of Perl and Tcl/Tk are compatible with Unix versions and therefore, CBB can satisfy the needs of personal finance in those environments.
