RAPID
RAPID is the open source technical analysis tool for investment decision developed by Greenstone Software Inc. Linux, XWindows and Microsoft versions of RAPID are available free from the website of RAPID. The operating systems, which support RAPID, are MS-DOS, Windows 3.1 or earlier, Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, NT XP and Linux along with X11 applications as the required environment. This technical analysis tool RAPID is made for the end/ desktop users and is released under the GNU General Public License.
RAPID is not only a stock and commodity graphing software but the various tools in RAPID help the user to take right investment analysis and decisions. RAPID provides some very useful tools for the users to make trading decisions without any fundamental knowledge of stock or commodity market. These technical analysis tools are Candlesticks, OBV, Simple Moving Averages, Exponential and Weighted, Volatility, Macd, Stochastics, RSI, Wilder DMI, Standard Deviation Bands, Trend Lines, Gridlines, Time-horizon Lines, Fibonacci, Slope, Momentum, CCI, Bollinger Bands, Probability osc, Cycle Finder, Derivative and Integration Charts, Williams accumulation and Distribution, Point and Figure and Gann Fans. Apart from these technical analysis tools, RAPID provides the user to graph his/ her trading performance.
The C source code is not included with the MS-DOS version of RAPID and so to get some added advantages the user needs to install the Linux version of RAPID which includes C source code. Though RAPID is a DOS program, the menu system of RAPID are quite same as that in MS windows and so the user can also work with mouse.
