Freemoney
Freemoney is the open source financial application released under GNU General Public License. Freemoney runs on the web environment and is written in JavaScript and Perl programming language. The operating systems, which support Freemoney, are Linux, BSD and Unix like operating systems. The business-oriented framework used by Freemoney is based on PostgreSQL, Perl, POE, Apache and Embperl.
Freemoney provides Customer Handling, Order Entry, Products, Accounts Receivables, General Ledger and Point-of-Sale. The Apache Web Server is used in this software to utilize the ‘web’ in an efficient way.
Freemoney can be customized and extended by the private consultants and in-house programmers. Perl provides this feature of Freemoney. The advanced database of Freemoney is fast and secure and supported by PostgreSQL.
The prerequisites to install Freemoney are Perl 5.6/ 5.8, PostgreSQL of version 7.2.x or above and Aapche 1.3.x. The framework of the Freemoney contains database definition, data base module, etc. The Batch Server of Freemoney is Cron based server.
The Sales Order feature of Freemoney provides Invoicing and IC Order transfer. The General Ledger features offers components like Journal Entry, Trial Balance, Reports and Report Writer. Form prints, Loan, System Administration, Accounts and Point of Scale are the other facilities provided by Freemoney.
The Journal Entry field of Freemoney provides Customer Group Check and Product Group Check functions. The user can generate loan document and can print the document by using Freemoney.
The forthcoming version of the Freemoney software will contain some added features like Journal Entry, Daily sales, Ad Hoc Payment, Monthly Overview List, easy Billing, New Chart of Account, Invoice list and Printing, etc.
