Monetra is the open source scalable Payment Processing Engine designed in C and developed by Main Street Softworks, Inc. The current version of Monetra is compatible with most of the operating systems like SCO UNIX, Linux, Sun Solaris, Mac OSX, FreeBSD, IBM AIX and MS Windows. Licensing and pricing of Monetra are based solely on required software functionality.

Monetra provides direct credit card/ gift card transaction processing. By single installation of Monetra, simultaneous multiple merchant accounts through the support of multiple modems and processors can be realized. The software delivers IP and SSL connectivity alongside SQL database support.

By utilizing lightweight processes/ threads Monetra 5.1, formerly known as MCVE, can handle a large number of transactions, e.g., 1200 transactions/ minute, with high speed and minimal CPU or Disk I/O and high-speed links. Monetra can be custom complied to run on many other platforms including modern embedded devices.

The Main Street Softworks grants a non-exclusive and non-transferable license for the internal use of the Monetra Binary software, its documentation and error corrections. The copyright and intellectual property rights of Monetra financial software, is retained by Main Street.

The newly implemented version of Monetra implements detailed codes for integrators, enhanced security features for increased user account manageability.
