ClosedShop is the open source shopping attempt to provide an easy to setup, manage and utilize shopping cart. Based on Perl and MySQL, ClosedShop aims to provide all the features a commercial shopping cart offers, without any cost. ClosedShop is independent to run at any operating system.

Some interesting features of the ClosedShop are the facility to Add/Edit/Remove products, View/Process Orders along with View Sales reports and View customers/e-mail customers (with mail merging), and the ClosedShop affiliates and affiliate reporting. eBay and PayPal – these two systems have been integrated for online payments through major credit cards. The easy transaction system makes the software very useful for the end users. Customer login and wish-list, Searching capabilities and Gift certificates are the other advantages in the ClosedShop software. The ClosedShop features Inventory tracking, State/ Nation/ Country Taxes, Total customization through templates and Shipment tracking for major carriers (FedEx, USPS, UPS) integrated into the program.

The ClosedShop maintains backup of entire database and can import products from flat file to excel worksheet. MaxMind Credit Card Fraud Detection tools automatically shift through the users online charges to flag potentially fraudulent transactions. Another tool in the ClosedShop software is MaxMind GeoIP geo-location matrices that work to identify the geographic source of the charge with additional checks for known frauds.
