The features of the CheckBook Tracker include Import/ Export QIF files, Import OFX file for automatic balancing and also import CBB for X-Windows. Apart from balancing the account, CheckBook Tracker is an excellent software to balance history graphs, forecasts and balance forecast graphs. The software supports split transaction and prints checks. It can generate XML reports and features scheduled bill pay.

The CheckBook Tracker software is so fast that its informal tests shows 10 times faster than MS Money with the same data. CheckBook Tracker also compresses the data efficiently that a year worth of data takes up about 31KB, compare to another software MS Money that takes 3.6MB for the same data. The CheckBook Tracker takes only 2MB space in the system. To run the CheckBook Tracker, other than GTK+ no such libraries are required.
