Turba is a series of PHP scripts that implement a contact directory and management interface. It is a Horde contact management application, which makes heavy use of Horde applications to provide integration and other Horde management programs. The Horde applications help to create distribution lists from your address books. These are handled by IMP or other Horde applications.

The web-based cvs frontend of Turba is written in PHP. It helps you to analyse the source tree, view the current code and realize what has been changed from version to version. Not only does Turba provide the PHP set of scripts, it also provides the API for external applications. It helps you to compute address books, provide searching and adding characteristics that further help you to transfer to other applications at any time.

Turba documentation assists to create solid standard applications making use of skillful object related design. It helps to support localization features like Unicode. It is open source software; the code is free and easily available on the Internet.

Turba 3.0, which has been lately released, helps in the improvement of LDAP, Horde API links, improved vCard support and also introduces distribution list support. Turba 1.2, which is now available, introduces Latvian, Lithuanian, Catalan, Mulberry and Pine address books, import-export support for TSV and Bulgarian translations.
