Code Forge IDE is an Integrated Development Environment for UNIX and Linux that offers full project management along with complete edit/compile/debug cycle support for more than 30 programming languages. The advanced project management features of this software enable it to scale from simple to extremely large and mixed-language as well as multi-user projects. Total integration between various IDE tools provides the programmer with unprecedented control over the development process.

The Project Manager feature of Code Forge IDE gives a visual representation of all its components through the use of dependency tree. Users can easily set up multiple targets of different types, mix programming languages or even revise control types within same project. The project manager provides full abstraction of the “Makefile” concept.

The IDE hides the details of working with different compiled programming languages. The simple concept of creating a target from source files and even other targets works exactly the same for all compiled languages.

Code Forge IDE comes with Integrated Smart Editor, Integrated Debugger, Class/Hierarchy Browser and Symbol Navigator, and Automated Revision Control. It also includes various tools like Diff/Merge tool, Search/Replace tool etc.

Though Code Forge IDE is based on UNIX and Linux it also supports other platforms such as, Solaris, AiX, Tru64UNIX, HP-UX: UNIX etc. The software is open source, comes under the terms of GNU General Public License.
